The change to monthly meetings was proposed and voted on after several commissioners said bimonthly sessions left the commission “losing momentum.” Commissioner Sophie Gruyere said, “To my mind, it’s not often enough, and we kind of lose momentum,” while others urged more frequent, shorter meetings and use of working groups to do substantive work between sessions.
