Open-enrollment limits for 2025–26: The board approved open-enrollment limits as presented by district staff. As described at the meeting, the district will accept regular open-enrollment students (4K through 12) with no limits for regular-education applicants. The district will place limits on certain special-education placements due to caseload constraints: at specific 4K, kindergarten, first- and second-grade sections at Westside and Pineview the district will not accept students requiring cross-categorical special-education services or speech-and-language services. Prairie Ridge grades 3–5 will also have no special-education openings, including speech-and-language. Webb Middle School grades 6–8 will have no regular special-education openings due to high caseloads, but the district said it can accept students who require speech-only services. The motion to approve open-enrollment limits was made and seconded during the meeting and carried by voice vote.
2025–26 school calendar: The board approved the 2025–26 student calendar as presented on a motion by Gabe, second by Lynn, carried by voice vote. The board noted the calendar includes Martin Luther King Jr. Day as an off day for staff and students. District staff explained they had been awaiting state guidance on late-start waivers but could not delay approval further; the approved calendar starts the day after Labor Day and reduces student-success days from six to five to make the calendar fit instructional requirements.
