Cedarburg School Board approves Costa Rica trip, K–3 behavioral program, boundary change and facility bids

The board voted on each item individually; all motions passed unanimously.
Board members and administrators said the Creating Connections program is intended to provide an in‑district behavioral alternative to out‑of‑district placements for students with IEPs; the curriculum committee forwarded the program to the full board after presentations by special‑education staff. District staff said the Neighborhood 49 boundary change is based on an enrollment‑growth report provided to the district in December and would preserve capacity across elementary schools; since no students currently live in the affected area, the move has no immediate pupil impact.
On facilities, the buildings and grounds committee reviewed bids and recommended the Munson resurfacing work and the Webster roof replacement. District staff told the board the Webster roof price includes contingency and project management and is lower than an earlier estimate the district had for the work. The board confirmed Fund 46 is the planned funding source for the roof and that long‑term capital projects must appear on the district plan to use Fund 46.
