Pulaski County officials reported that state and FEMA teams toured the county to assess flood damage to county roads, met the state threshold for public assistance assessments and that the county has begun the reimbursement process. The court approved the county’s road list and a request to acquire 3,000 tons of rock for road repairs.
County staff cautioned residents that federal and state reimbursement processes are lengthy and require paperwork and multiple meetings. The road department and magistrates emphasized broad damage — more than 130 roads in at least one district — and asked for patience as crews prioritize repairs. The court approved a 15 mph speed limit on Stevens Lane in the Second District and instructed the road department to post signage.
Officials said they have started applying for reimbursement and will continue to work with state agencies; they noted other counties suffered more extensive damage and may require longer recovery timelines.
Court direction: Road Department to schedule rock deliveries, prioritize roads on the submitted list, and coordinate reporting for FEMA/state reimbursement.
