Commissioner Timmons appointed to steering committee for Marshall Depot and Amtrak station

The Harrison County Commissioners Court unanimously approved the appointment of Commissioner Zephaniah Timmons (Precinct 2) to a steering committee composed of officials and community leaders to support the Marshall Depot and Amtrak station.

The motion to approve the appointment was made by Commissioner Christian Ebarb and seconded by Commissioner Coos; the court recorded the motion as passing 4 to 0.

During the brief discussion, a commissioner thanked Timmons for agreeing to serve and said the steering committee is eager to ensure the depot is maintained and properly funded to prevent deterioration. "I know that board's eager to make sure that the depot is taken care of and funded, properly, so that it doesn't fall into disrepair," the commissioner said.

The item was acted on in open court; no additional conditions or funding commitments were announced at the meeting.
