Representatives of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce asked the fiscal court to continue a yearly subsidy for the county’s summer concert series, which the chamber said helps draw residents and visitors.
A chamber representative said last year’s budgeted support for concerts was $25,000 and asked the court to continue that line in the fiscal-year 25–26 budget. “The budgeted item last year was 25,000…we’re going to budget the same amount for the 25–26 budget,” the presenter said. The chamber described tentative concert dates (May 30, June 27, July 25 and Aug. 29) and named four bands they have contacted but said contracts are not finalized.
Court members asked whether a motion was needed to release funds now; staff recommended including the amount in the county’s budget for 2025–26 and the court passed a motion to repay the prior-year allocation if necessary. The motion to pay the requested amount passed during roll call.
The chamber also offered to lead formation of a local America 250 county committee (discussed separately on the agenda) and said concerts are part of a broader set of community events tied to tourism and cultural programming.
