Logan County Fiscal Court approved a purchase agreement with the Electric Plant Board to acquire the radio tower located on Reservoir Hill and authorized the county judge to sign the agreement. The county indicated ARPA funds (returned to the county) will be used to fund the purchase.
County staff explained the acquisition is part of a multi-stage plan to improve and expand the county's radio system for emergency services. Once the new tower is placed into service and outfitted with radio equipment, the county will seek a new location for an older tower (the Perham Reservoir Hill 80‑foot structure) and evaluate disposition or relocation options. Staff said engineers and the 911 committee will coordinate future recommendations and public meetings with all departments that use the radio system.
The court voted to approve the purchase agreement and directed staff to proceed with outfitting the tower and to hold a public 911 committee meeting to plan next steps. The action is intended to improve 9‑1‑1 communications and radio coverage across the county.
