Commissioners authorize submission of multiple waterline extension projects to Texas Water Development Board

The Maverick County Commissioners Court on April 9 authorized Precinct 3 to submit three waterline extension projects to the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) for possible future grant funding.
Commissioner Ramos said the TWDB requires projects to be listed in a capital-improvement plan. The projects authorized for submission included proposed waterline extensions for Lehman Ranch Road, Day Road and Imports Road; a separate notice referenced North Kemahler/Days and Edwards Road projects. Commissioners voted to allow the precinct to include the projects in the county capital-improvement plan and to move forward with TWDB procedures.
The court approved the motion without discussion and recorded the approval in the minutes. Commissioners and staff said the TWDB's new application procedures require early inclusion in planning documents so projects will be eligible for future funding cycles.
