County approves TextMyGov for road and bridge reporting and replacement recording server for Horseshoe

Staff emphasized the product’s ability to push geotargeted notifications to residents who subscribe to alerts in specific areas.
Commissioners also approved purchase of a replacement recording server for the Midland County Horseshoe venue. Facilities staff said the current server had become unreliable after repeated power events and the county has budgeted funds within the department to replace the device; the replacement will restore reliable video recording and retention capabilities for events.
Both purchases were approved by voice vote. Commissioners discussed a desire to compare the city’s internally developed reporting system with TextMyGov, but staff said the county lacked in‑house developer capacity and the vendor product integrates directly with the county’s work‑order system.
