Board members and staff discussed the $97,000 item. Ford asked whether the excavated material would be repurposed or scrapped. Superintendent Bubba Hangeron and staff said the material is excavated dirt from prior modular work that must be moved and stored off site; FEMA will pay to put it back in place but will not pay to move it twice. Architect Shelley (firm representative) said the construction schedule contemplates roughly 600 days from notice to proceed, with a target for substantial completion in December 2026.
Board members praised the design work and said the building meets budgetary and program needs. No formal roll-call tally was recorded in the public transcript; the motion passed with no objections reported at the time of the vote.
