The board voted to award a contract for network electronics and partial wireless infrastructure replacement to Delta Network Services, a move administration said keeps the project within the bond budget and maximizes available E‑Rate reimbursement.
Brandon (Technology) told the board the total project cost is $1,131,626.84; administration proposed using bond funds to pay upfront and seek reimbursement when the E‑Rate filing window opens July 1. Administration said the district expects about 80% reimbursement on eligible portions — roughly $817,004.46 — on the sampled categories it sought to replace this round.
The award was moved by Mister Sellers and supported by Mister De Villa; when called the vote was unanimous in favor and the motion carried. Administration said the work fits within the bond allocation for technology projects and that partial replacement was chosen to match the remaining E‑Rate funding available.
Separately, the board was briefed on a firewall-software support renewal that is not due until July; administration said it will bring that item forward at the April 28 meeting so the board can act closer to the contract renewal date.
