Trustee Berry reported that the policy committee met earlier and spent the majority of its time discussing student identification in the district’s information system and a proposed guideline on cell-phone search protocol for administrators.
Berry said the committee left the student-identification work pending legal review and assigned follow-up tasks to staff, including district counsel and specific administrators. "The new guideline on cell phone search protocol for administrators was a good discussion," Berry said.
The committee also discussed updates to related policy guidelines; staff will bring back revised language after legal checks and the committee’s follow-up work is complete.
