Board combines trustee submissions into seven goals for 2024–26; bullying, literacy and fiscal transparency highlighted

President Mozamb presented a consolidated list of board goals for the 2024–26 period and asked trustees to confirm categories and identify any missing items.
Mozamb said she combined trustees’ submissions into two slides of categories and reminded trustees that each was limited to three goals. The consolidated list the president presented included: bullying prevention; community engagement and improved collaboration between the board, administration and parents; literacy; student discipline and reductions in suspensions and absenteeism (particularly at the secondary level); classroom technology use; fiscal responsibility and transparency (including data dashboards); and board conduct and governance code review.
Mozamb said the goal list will be published in the board briefs and available to trustees for comment. Trustees discussed minor wording and category placements; Trustee Watts asked that “positive school climate” be reflected under student discipline. The president said the administration will place the goals on standing items in board briefs and that the policy committee may review governance language if trustees request it.
Trustees were asked to request access to the draft document if they did not already have it. Mozamb said she would approve access requests and that the administration would place the goals on standing board brief items and on future committee agendas as needed.
