Committee approves Shores of Delavan amendment to allow playground and gazebo in open-space area

The Walworth County Zoning Committee on March 20 approved an amendment for Shores of Delavan Faiz LLC to retain an existing gazebo-type pavilion and construct a new playground within the property’s designated open-space park area.
County planner Kate reported the structures were placed prior to the company obtaining formal site-plan approval, and staff recommended an amended site plan to note the playground and gazebo within the open-space area. The amendment language recorded at the meeting reads: “Amended 03/20/2025 for a new playground and gazebo structure within the designated open space park area as per plan submitted.”
Applicants were present and staff indicated the proposal meets relevant conditions. Committee member Sue moved to approve the amendment; the motion was seconded by Karbowski and carried by voice vote.
Staff confirmed the amendment will be reflected in the site plan and that no additional conditions beyond those in the amended language were imposed at the meeting.
