Daryl White, Miami County noxious weed director, presented the county’s 2025 noxious weed management plan and annual weed eradication report on April 9. White summarized ongoing spraying contracts, options for residents who opt out of county spraying and department plans to begin work around May 1.
Commissioners moved to approve the plan for 2025. The motion passed by voice vote with unanimous approval. During the discussion commissioners asked staff to provide contract documents and pricing associated with the chemical-spraying contract; the director said contracts will be presented next week with terms for commission signature.
The board also clarified that the noxious-weed contract includes a multi-year term with an option to extend an additional year, which staff said the county intends to exercise. No changes to the program’s scope or funding were announced at the meeting.
