Staff explained the system will integrate with landfill-fill-sequence software to produce real-time position and compaction information to maximize air-space efficiency and to keep equipment inside permitted landfill boundaries. Committee members asked whether the GPS would prevent operators from going into unsafe areas; staff said the system provides real-time data and footprint boundaries.
