MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Muskegon County Human Services Committee on March 11 voted to approve agenda item HS2503‑11, authorizing the purchase of office furniture for a county-occupied site at 1161 West Southern through a cooperative purchasing agreement with Grand River Office Furniture for $31,006.29 and 67 cents.
The motion to approve was moved by Commissioner Natt and supported by Commissioner Page; the committee approved the purchase by voice vote.
Rich Francisco, executive director of Health West, said the purchase covers additional furniture needed for leased space at 1161 West Southern and that the county has used Grand River Office Furniture on prior procurements. "So this is just additional furniture that we're seeking approval for," Francisco said.
Paige Legashevsky, finance director, explained the county's use of cooperative purchasing. "It's just another purchasing cooperative, much like mygovdeals [sic], where other municipalities have gone through that process of procurement to get the best price, and then we can just use the work that they've done," Legashevsky said.
The committee took no separate funding action beyond approving the purchase under the cooperative agreement.
