Commissioners discuss airport manager hiring process after candidate achieves state licensure

The hiring committee plans to meet the next morning at 8 a.m. to screen resumes. If the committee identifies candidates to interview, it will schedule first and second interviews and then make a hiring recommendation to the full board. Commissioners noted the possibility of calling a special meeting to act on the committee recommendation; if required, a special meeting could be scheduled within a few days. Administrators estimated the process could take “at least a couple weeks” depending on interviews, negotiations over salary and start date, and the candidate’s response time.
