The staffing updates came from an unidentified district official who said, “we did, successfully hire a new, principal at the Ambit School. His name is Kane Beaudry. We'll be doing a formal press release soon, and maybe we'll get him here for an introduction.” The official said Beaudry comes from Halifax Elementary School on the South Shore and called him “a very experienced, principal.”
The district did not report a vote on the hire at the meeting. The official said a press release would be issued and that school staff were enthusiastic about the appointment.
On the Martin School principal search, the official said the district ran a “great process” with strong finalists but was “not able to deliver a candidate,” so it has reopened and reposted the job. The official said the application period could reopen around the middle of next week and that the district plans a slightly revised, streamlined process. “We sort of need to get back to the drawing board,” the official said.
District leaders also reported progress on the search to replace Assistant Superintendent Michelle. The official said semifinalist interviews were held last week and that Tasha represented the school committee on the search committee. The official said more news could come by the end of this week but that there was no official update at the meeting.
