Mark Andrew, director of the Hocking County Emergency Management Agency, told commissioners on April 10 that the county’s 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan has been completed and has passed the Ohio EMA mitigation branch’s first review. Andrew said the plan is 215 pages and that the county must adopt a resolution to accept the plan and move to final approval.
Andrew asked commissioners to sign countywide emergency management contracts with the county’s political subdivisions; he brought 11 contract forms for signature but said one township’s signature remained pending because of communication difficulties. He offered to provide digital copies and to return later to collect any remaining signatures.

Andrew said he will deliver the resolution paperwork and that staff will scan and provide digital copies for review and signatures.
