Saratoga County committee approves property-tax corrections, recommends Ryze Riverview LLC application to full board

Julie Bosley, an auditor’s office staff member, told the committee the auditor’s office processed one refund of $413.50 in the fourth quarter of 2024. Bosley said total refunds and corrections for the calendar year 2024 totaled $5,208.28, down from $8,105.02 in 2023 and $7,408.40 in 2022.
A county staff member presented a proposed correction to a 2025 tax bill for a parcel in Clifton Park owned by Susan Hoffman. The presenter said a building on the parcel was demolished in February 2012 but sewer units had not been removed from the assessment roll. According to the figures given to the committee, the original 2025 bill was $8,246.23, the corrected tax would be $1,502.73 and the difference equals $6,743.50. The presenter said the assessor has not yet submitted paperwork but could file corrections for the prior two years and may seek refunds going back up to three years.
The committee voted to enter executive session to discuss proposed, pending or current litigation; the committee chair stated no action was taken while in executive session. After returning to open session, the committee voted to recommend approval of the Ryze Riverview LLC property tax correction application to the full Saratoga County board.
