Committee authorizes chair to sign navigation easement over proposed Cesar development near airport runway

The Airborne Improvement Committee on March 4 authorized the county board chair to execute a navigation easement covering air surfaces and ground within the runway protection zone over a development proposed by the Cesar brothers on the west side of Saratoga County Airport.
Chad explained the Town of Milton has granted conditional approval for the developer’s project and that language negotiated with the town and developer will secure easements over the property “at no cost to the county,” preserving airspace protections near Runway 14 and the runway protection zone.
“I'll entertain a motion to approve that item,” the chair said; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff recorded no additional county expenditure connected to the easement authorization and said the agreement is limited to securing necessary easements to protect airport surfaces and airspace.
Committee members asked no substantive follow-up questions during the vote. Staff said the easement will allow the county to obtain access and protective rights over portions of the development to maintain safety and operational criteria for the airport; detailed easement language will be executed by the chair as authorized.
