At its April 7 meeting the City of Glens Falls Water and Sewer Board approved the minutes from the March 3 meeting and approved the warrant after brief discussion.
Members also received several operational updates. Staff reported successful switchgear work and said the VACON truck and a recently purchased skid steer with a cutter have become valuable for hydro-excavation and saw-cutting work, helping crews save time on jobs. Staff discussed whether to trade in older equipment; new models were described as "astronomically expensive."
Staff reported ongoing use of the city's hydro-excavation tool for digging around pipes without damaging them and said the city uses the equipment increasingly for time-saving repairs. The board also discussed that heavy server use at City Hall can delay billing runs and that staff are working to smooth that process.
On personnel the board noted that Chris Miller sustained a serious leg fracture responding as a volunteer firefighter; staff said Miller is recovering and staff member Christian has been covering his duties from home. The board did not enter executive session and set future meeting dates: a Water and Sewer Workshop on Monday, April 21, and the regular meeting on Monday, May 5.
The transcript shows the minutes and the warrant were approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
