The Glens Falls City Water and Sewer Commission on March 3 approved the minutes from its Feb. 10 meeting, approved the monthly warrant and voted to recommend that Bold Healthy Food, at 140 Glen Street, install a grease trap before its opening.
The routine approvals came after commissioners reviewed invoices and line items on the warrant packet. Commissioners asked about a roughly $11,000 line for “Cartagena” and discussed larger ongoing invoices tied to engineering and design work, including expenditures related to an electrical upgrade design and other professional services.
The commission then considered a request from the new Glen Street restaurant. Building and codes staff reported the health department had prompted the business to contact the city to determine whether a grease trap was required. Staff recommended the commission advise the planning/building department that the restaurant install a small grease trap because staff expected on-site dishwashing of some bulk containers.
Commissioners voted to make that recommendation to the building department and noted the city could require a mandatory installation later if grease-related sewer issues arose. The motion passed without recorded opposition.
The meeting concluded routine business with no additional formal actions recorded at the meeting’s close.
