The Yarmouth Select Board on Feb. 25 endorsed the town administrator's appointment of Steve Reynolds as the town's recreation director.
Town Administrator summarized the appointment process: candidates were recruited, and the assistant director, Steve Reynolds, emerged from a full recruitment as the recommended candidate. Town staff and the town's human-resources office supported the selection. Speakers noted Reynolds's years as assistant recreation director, prior experience managing youth programs, and success expanding participation and recruitment of lifeguards.
The board moved to endorse the appointment; the vote was unanimous. Select Board members praised Reynolds's local relationships and his role in expanding seasonal program participation; staff said participation rose roughly 25% to 29% in programs Reynolds oversaw during the past two years, and highlighted his role in lifeguard recruitment that added 13 lifeguards.
Reynolds was welcomed and will assume the director role following the 15-day notification period under the town charter.
