Facilities committee member Miss Hillen told the board that technicians initially quoted $6,586 to replace several failed parts. When crews began work they determined the unit’s compressor was also bad; GSM provided an additional quote of $9,200.05 to replace the compressor on top of the original repair quote. Hillen asked the board to approve the combined work and to transfer the required funds from the fund balance.
A board member moved to approve the GSM quote as presented and to permit the transfer from fund balance; another board member seconded. The board voted in favor and the motion passed.
The approval authorizes the facilities team to schedule the repair and use fund-balance reserves for payment. The board did not specify an alternate funding source at the meeting.
