Board reviews $426,104 plan to finish Tanglewood Elementary restrooms; contractor priced work at $391,104

District staff presented a plan to finish a two-set restroom remodel at Tanglewood Elementary during summer 2025 and asked the board to consider a guaranteed maximum price at a future action meeting.
"We could save about $45,000 if we did both of these at the same time," said Burke Jones, director of operations, describing the district’s rationale for consolidating work this summer. Jones said the vendor McCall and Gordon provided a base price of $391,104 for the work and staff recommended adding a $35,000 contingency that would be spent only if needed, bringing the requested total to $426,104.
Jones said the work would be done in summer 2025. The board discussed the scope but did not take final action on April 14; the item was presented for discussion and will return to the board for formal approval and a guaranteed maximum price vote.
The board had no substantive questions beyond the cost and schedule. The district will present final contract documents when available.
