Trustee Morgan read a resolution noting that Cedar Hill ISD 's theater scholars and educators perform in notable Metroplex venues, that theater participation teaches leadership and community service, and that 35 Cedar Hill ISD scholars earned a 3.0 GPA or higher while participating in theater. The resolution was presented and approved by the board during the meeting.
Separately, athletic staff and Coach Collins addressed trustees to summarize the girls basketball season. Collins said the program organized a rigorous off-season boot camp and called the varsity group "the team of Destiny," describing the team's statewide run and noting records across varsity, JV and freshman levels. Collins listed individual honors and academic recognitions, including all-district and all-region selections and a signing by Brooklyn King with Furman University. "These girls played for each other," Collins said, adding that multiple players will continue at the next level.
The recognitions were ceremonial items recorded on the meeting record; no formal policy action was required.
