Dickinson ISD trustees ratify personnel changes, approve contracts and appoint Kranz assistant principal

Doctor Brown introduced Parker and summarized his background, saying Parker was "currently serving as assistant principal at Central Middle School in Galveston ISD" and noting his experience with PBIS strategies, attendance improvement and instructional coaching. A motion to appoint Parker was seconded by Trustee Mackey and approved unanimously.
Board members conducted the votes with verbal aye responses; Trustees Cotton, Vizzi, Magliolo, Rodriguez and Mackey were recorded as present and voting in favor on each motion. Several motions were moved and seconded from the dais as shown in the meeting record.
The approval of teacher and administrative contracts continues the district's staffing actions following an earlier executive session where personnel matters were discussed. District staff confirmed the list of hires and separations had been discussed in executive session prior to the public motions and votes.
No additional conditions, amendments or dissenting votes were recorded in the public record for these items.
Looking ahead, the appointment of Parker will take effect per district human resources procedures; the board did not specify an effective date in the public motion.
