Cedar Hill ISD technology staff proposed letting students keep district Chromebooks over the summer so scholars can continue summer programs, begin school instruction Day 1 without device delays and avoid taking devices in en masse at the end of each year.
The presenter said campuses will no longer collect scholar devices at school-year end and instead will distribute Chromebooks at the start of the school year according to a campus deployment schedule. “This year, we will not be picking up the scholar devices,” the presenter said. The technology staff recommended mailing a parent letter in mid-April and again in early May with details and opt-out instructions.
