ODESSA, Texas — The Ector County Independent School District Board of Trustees voted Feb. 18 to approve a set of items brought forward during its regular meeting, including targeted improvement plans for campuses identified by the Texas Education Agency, a $360,000 contract for construction oversight at the Transition Learning Center, several purchases over $50,000, a midyear budget amendment that includes $860,000 for Burleson work, the district's 2025–26 academic calendar, and trustee appointments to naming committees for Odessa High School and Permian High School.
The approvals were taken by voice vote during the meeting at the district administration boardroom. The board opened a public hearing on the 2024–25 targeted improvement plans and, after no public comments were offered, moved to accept the plans so staff could submit them to the Texas Education Agency's online intervention platform. The board also approved the listed budget and procurement items later in the agenda.
