Frenship ISD plans 'Campus Adventure' and Skyward redesign to streamline registration

Pete Patrick and the district’s strategic plan team described changes designed to simplify registration and welcome families to Frenship ISD ahead of the new school year.
The district is piloting a “Campus Adventure” welcome event to replace or supplement the traditional pre-K/kindergarten roundup; principals, teachers and campus staff will host drop-in open-house style events so families can tour campuses, see decorated classrooms and ask questions. Patrick said the event will capture contact information for families before they appear in Skyward so district communications can follow up over the summer.
The district also contracted with a Skyward consultant to redesign the parent-facing side of the student information system. Patrick said the upgrade will include visual branding, clearer forms and a pop-up guidance feature to explain form choices. Skyward will also have Google Translate access so families can view forms in other languages. “It will clean up the information that we get from folks,” Patrick said, adding the work was completed quickly and affordably.
Trustees responded positively in the recorded discussion, calling the changes “huge” and praising communications and registration teams. The strategic plan update did not prompt any board votes during the recorded portion of the meeting.
