Frenship ISD trustees heard the district’s recommendation of Scott as executive director of administrative services and were introduced to Jason Cooper, the district’s recommended girls athletic coordinator and head girls basketball coach.
Board President Miller invited Scott forward and praised his years of service in the district, saying the role requires “poise, self control, patience, kindness.” Scott thanked the board and said, "I'm humbled by this opportunity. And I can't wait to get started." His wife, Gina, attended the meeting.
Later, the board introduced Jason Cooper, who the district described as a coach with more than 20 years of experience at the high school and collegiate level and a record of district, regional and state championships. Cooper said he was excited to “start something brand new” at Memorial High School and to help “set the traditions, set the standards, create the culture” for the new program. He introduced his wife, Amanda, and son Jonathan.
The board voted to approve the meeting’s consent agenda later in the session; Chelsea Salazar moved to approve the consent agenda and Sean Vincent seconded the motion. The chair announced, “Motion carried.” The transcript does not specify a roll-call vote tally or whether the personnel recommendations were included on that consent agenda.
No further formal action on these specific hires was read aloud during the portions of the meeting recorded in the transcript.
