Votes at a glance: Sabine Parish Police Jury actions — contracts, annual forms, grants and transfers

At its February meeting the Sabine Parish Police Jury approved a number of routine and discrete items summarized below.

- Contract acceptance: The jury voted to accept a contract (motion moved by Juror Barry) following a staff presentation that compared contractor rates and noted the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) requires certain testing/engineering services. The jury approved acceptance by voice vote.

- Louisiana compliance questionnaire (2024 annual audit): Jurors approved adopting the Louisiana compliance questionnaire required by state law; staff said the questionnaire will be prepared and attested by the parish president and reviewed by the auditors before the audit begins. Motion moved by Barry and seconded by Bruce; the motion carried as recorded by the chair.

- Annual corporate endeavor agreement (Dixie Youth): The jury approved the annual corporate endeavor agreement with Sabine Parish Dixie Youth and included $10,000 in the 2025 budget to be split equally among five participating municipalities. Jurors described the funding as a longstanding annual support to provide start-up money for teams and concession/field maintenance.

- Approval of bills and transfers: The jury approved payment of bills and a transfer of $500,000 from the sales tax fund (Parish Transportation Act) for February 2025 operations.
