The Sabine Parish Police Jury awarded the contract to relocate groundwater monitoring wells MW11 and MW12 at the solid waste landfill, a relocation the jury said was necessary to accommodate construction of the landfill’s new liner system.
Staff reported the jury received three bids. The lowest bid was from Gulf South Engineering and Testing at $31,127; the other bids reported were Artemann and Associates (reported in the packet as $34,095.50) and Deabru Engineering LLC ($64,518). After staff presentation, a juror moved to accept the low bid; the motion was seconded and the jury approved the award by voice vote. A juror said the wells must be moved “because we gotta move them” to allow the liner construction to proceed.
Jurors directed staff to proceed with contracting and with the relocation work necessary for the liner installation.
