The Levelland City Council approved Ordinance No. 1093 to add explicit prohibitions to the city parks code that bar inflatable "bounce house" structures and any tents or shade devices secured by stakes in the ground.
Staff said the changes aim to protect turf and irrigation systems and address safety concerns when inflatables become untethered. The amendment inserts two new subsections into article 12.203 (prohibitions) to make those rules enforceable by ordinance rather than only by administrative park rules.
On a motion and second the council voted to approve the amendments; the motion carried on a voice vote.
Ending: Staff said the ordinance provides clarity for park users and enforcement; further rules (for RVs and similar items) will be presented at a later meeting.
