The council approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute a professional services agreement with TRC Engineers, Inc. for engineering services related to a groundwater–surface water interconnect project.
Terry (city staff) said the project will install a new 18-inch water line to connect the surface-water system under construction near New Braunfels Street and Eighth Street to the lower-pressure groundwater plane. The interconnect will allow transfers between groundwater and surface-water supplies within the distribution system.
Staff presented a TRC proposal priced at $299,916 covering design, bidding and construction-phase services. Terry recommended approval. Councilmember Raya moved the resolution and Councilmember Carlson seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote.
No additional funding or bond actions were announced at the meeting; staff recommended the agreement to support current construction coordination and system reliability efforts.
