Ulster County approves block of construction contracts for Government Operations Center; $9.355 million general-contractor contract included

The Department of Public Works and county project staff attended the meeting to answer questions. Committee members conducted a block vote on Resolutions 197, 198, 199 and 200, moved to amend as presented, and then adopted the block. The roll-call read in the transcript recorded a unanimous “yes” from members present, and the clerk announced the resolutions were adopted, 7 to 0.
The committee did not discuss specific funding sources or detailed payment schedules for each contract in the excerpted discussion; staff indicated the contracts are part of the construction procurement and are standard contracting practice for the project. The resolutions were filed as late contract resolutions and were considered together to accommodate the project schedule.
The committee’s approval authorizes execution of the listed contracts; staff and DPW representatives indicated they are available to answer follow-up questions and that the contracts reflect industry-standard provisions.
