The committee approved an amendment to Resolution No. 69 of 2025, which governs Warren County’s meeting, conference and job‑training authorizations. Amanda, the clerk of the board, told the committee the original policy authorized only department heads, the county administrator or the board chair to sign off on training and travel forms, which created problems when deputies or designees needed authority.
Amanda said the amendment adds explicit authority for a department head’s designee to sign approvals and makes administrative adjustments to the travel form to strengthen the auditor’s trail. “We found ... the policy as it was written only allowed department heads and … the county administrator or the chair of the board to sign off on the forms. We found ... deputy department heads or other deputies, vice chairs … didn’t have the same authorization,” Amanda said.
The amendment also corrects clerical errors and modifies the form to provide additional signatures or audit documentation where the auditor had identified a gap. A redline version of the policy appeared in the meeting packet to show the changes.
The committee approved the amendment by voice vote with no discussion beyond the clerk’s explanation.
