Countryside Adult Home reports higher overtime, slower admissions amid flu and snow

Amy, a representative of Countryside Adult Home, told the Warren County Human Services Committee on March 24 that overtime has risen this year because of staff illnesses and snow that required maintenance staff to work weekends and early hours.

"The overtime is up a little bit, just because we've held, we've had illness this year and we've had, a lot of snow where we've had to have, maintenance come in on the weekend and early hours," Amy said. "So it's up a little higher than what I'd like to see it, but hopefully it'll even out as the year goes on."

Amy also described the facility census as "a cycle of life," noting the presence of two 99-year-old residents who require a higher level of care and that admissions are being paced because of flu-season precautions. "Right now, too, with flu season, we're not pushing to admit as quickly as we normally would just so we can make sure everybody's healthy," she said.
