Commission approves rezoning for commercial parcel at 1406/1404 Adair Court SW for retail, restaurants

City planners presented a rezoning request for properties at 1406 and 1404 Adair Court SW to change zoning from light industrial to the Suburban Mixed Use Community Center district. Planner Dave Houck told the commission the 2.5‑acre site sits in an urban medium intensity future land‑use area and that the proposed retail and restaurant uses would be compatible with nearby development. Staff recommended approval and the application will move to City Council for public hearing.
An applicant representative, Brian Vogel of Hall and Hall Engineers, provided his name and address and answered brief commissioner questions. No members of the public spoke during the hearing. After brief discussion the commission voted to approve the rezoning request; the motion passed without recorded opposition and will be reviewed by the City Council.
