The Ritenour School District Board of Education approved a three-year extension of its custodial-services contract with HES (presented in discussion as AGS/HES) following a presentation from facilities staff.
District staff said the current districtwide cleaning contract is $2,314,152 and that the vendor requested a 3% annual increase. Because the district is adding the Ritenour Center for Educational Excellence, staff said the first-year increase is effectively 4.5. Year-one contract cost for the 2025–26 school year was presented as $2,418,288; year two was $2,490,828 and year three $2,565,552. The increases were attributed to higher supply costs, wage increases and added staffing and equipment to service the new facility.
The facilities director told the board the district is fully staffed under the current contract and that an additional evening custodian will be added to the contract to support the new building. The board approved the extension by roll call without amendments.
Board members thanked custodial staff and noted the district intends to keep staffing levels strong; the superintendent and staff said they will coordinate the added staff position under the contract.
