Smithfield High School CyberPatriot teams earn state recognition; committee presents recognition

The School Committee recognized Smithfield High School students and staff for achievements in CyberPatriot and related career and technical education programs at the Feb. 27 meeting.
Teacher Mike Dislorius reported that four teams competed in the CyberPatriot competition, with three teams advancing to the gold tier and one team, Cybergod0011, placing second in the state. Another team, Buy and Save, competed at the silver level and advanced to semifinals. The chair presented recognition to the cybersecurity teams and to Dislorius for his work leading the IT/cybersecurity and computer‑science CTE programs.
Committee members praised the student teams and noted the program’s role in exposing K–12 students to cybersecurity and STEM career pathways. Dislorius described CyberPatriot as a national youth cyber-education program run by the Air & Space Forces Association that tasks student teams with defending virtual systems during competition rounds.
The committee presented certificates and congratulated the students; no formal action was required.
