The School Committee approved two final payments at its Feb. 27 meeting: $899.99 to RGB Architects for owner’s project management services related to the Boyle Athletic Complex, and $50,000 to Honeywell for energy improvements at the high school and middle school.
Regarding the RGB Architects invoice, administration said the vendor issued a credit of $112 that brought the invoice in line with the contract and that no further invoices are expected except for reimbursables. A committee member asked for a detailed breakdown of concession‑stand costs and other final close‑out documents; administration said the requested document is being prepared in conjunction with the architect.
On the Honeywell payment, administration noted the project has entered its warranty/commissioning phase. The committee was told that commissioning agents reviewed the work and that warranty coverage extends through June (the auditors and administration referenced a remaining warranty period). Committee members asked about measurable energy savings; administration said a full consumption comparison will be most meaningful at the end of the winter season and noted several elements expected to lower consumption, including a conversion from oil to natural gas at Gallagher and building-control improvements that provide occupied/unoccupied set points across classrooms.
Both motions were made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
