The Village of Airmont Board of Trustees on March 3 approved a series of resolutions and service agreements covering auditing services, planning services, grant-consultant contracts, a newsletter mailing and other routine municipal business.
Trustees voted unanimously on each item as it was presented; meeting minutes record “All in favor? Aye” for each resolution. The board did not record individual roll-call tallies in the transcript.
Actions approved included an engagement letter to retain K and R Public Accounts for audit-of-claims services; trustees discussed a change in the recurring fee noted in the meeting as $1,000 per month, compared with an earlier figure mentioned of $3,500. The board approved a resolution establishing the standard workday for elected and appointed officials and appointed Mona Montel Ramapo as town register and register of vital statistics for the period ending Dec. 31, 2025 (start date not specified in the transcript).
The board approved a planning-service proposal and hourly-rate schedule from Fusco Engineering for Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025, and two separate service agreements with Millennium Strategies LLC to prepare grant applications — one for the New York State Archives Local Government Records Management Improvement Fund for a flat consulting fee of $2,000, and a second for the U.S. congressional directed spending program for a $2,500 flat consulting fee. Trustees also approved a service agreement with Fender Grand Strategies to prepare and submit an application for a Critical Infrastructure Grant Program (CIGP).
Trustees approved the printing and mailing of the Airmont winter/spring newsletter not to exceed $3,000 and amended the procedure for streetlight requests so that the village will send the request letter as soon as a request is received and, once utility approval is obtained, will not need to bring each request back to a board meeting. The board accepted an irrevocable offer of dedication for a roadway presented with documents signed Jan. 23, 2004, and approved treasury abstracts for Feb. 3, 2025, citing an amended amount of $228,665.97.
The board approved minutes for the meeting that staff clarified were for Feb. 3, 2025, and voted to amend the employee policy with three points discussed during the meeting: (1) details related to completion of work under five hours, (2) employees with time during the day may make up that time within one hour before or two hours after work, and (3) village inspectors must use village vehicles when acting as village inspectors. The board approved a contract with Campbell Fire Inspection to perform 12-year kitchen fire-suppression system maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer’s proposal dated Jan. 6, 2025; the transcript records the amount as $825 for the village unit and $825 for the senior-center unit (total $1,650).
Other items on the agenda were discussed but did not result in separate recorded votes at this meeting. The board adjourned at the conclusion of business.
