Leadership directed that the endorsement be effective for the current 2024-25 school year rather than waiting until the class of 2025-26.
Clemons said the change-control board reviewed the request in January and approved it with concerns about whether vendors could implement the change in the remaining timeline. In February, committee chair Deborah Donovan confirmed she had spoken with the vendors and that they can make the required update. Clemons said the endorsement will be added to the dropdown option for endorsements earned beyond the traditional diploma; Lemuel (staff) will adjust any requests submitted for 2024-25 to reflect the correct school year.
Committee members noted the need to distinguish which standards take effect immediately and which apply to the 2025-26 cohort; Clemons said requests submitted now should indicate 2025-26 when appropriate and that staff would update earlier submissions to the correct year. The committee voted to approve the change request by voice vote; no roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript. The motion carried.
