The Flathead County commissioners on Jan. 30 approved consideration of an extension to the subdivision improvement agreement for Whalebone Estates Phase 3.
Erin Appert of the county Planning and Zoning office presented the request, saying the SIA is scheduled to expire Nov. 1, 2025. At the meeting a motion was put forward to extend the SIA and to set the required surety amount at $59,856.62.
A commissioner moved and another seconded the motion. The board approved the extension by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting transcript provided.
The extension preserves the developer’s existing obligations under the SIA through the new expiration date described in staff documents. Planning staff did not provide additional details at the meeting about the developer’s schedule for completing improvements or any changes to the SIA terms.
