Finance director reports GFOA budget award, ARPA project status and procurement timeline

Amy Dexter, Flathead County finance director, updated the board on the county’s budget and grants portfolio. Dexter reported the county received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) distinguished budget award for the seventeenth consecutive year. She said ARPA reporting is brief because only two projects remain (Lakeside and Evergreen sewer projects) and there is no change on those projects this month.
Dexter said the county has had timing issues with the Gravity budgeting software after a team member on the vendor side left; the county met with vendor support and expects fixes. She also said the county’s IRS audit concerning Social Security refunds had been reassigned to a new auditor after a lapse in communication and staff expect work to resume.
On procurement, Dexter said six people are reviewing recently opened RFPs and plan a scoring meeting on the 25th of the month to narrow candidates and schedule demonstrations. She also gave performance metrics for February, including accounts payable and payroll check counts and balances across funds.
