District 196 names new principals for Greenleaf and Highland elementaries, effective July 1

Jeremy Sorensen, director of elementary education, said Mandy Hill will transition from her current role as assistant administrator at Diamond Path Elementary to principal of Greenleaf Elementary effective July 1, 2025. Hill, who has been with the district for 15 years and worked as a fifth‑grade teacher earlier in her career, described her excitement to lead Greenleaf and emphasized student experience and opportunities.
Sorensen also announced that Mark Aronson, currently an assistant administrator at Hyland Elementary, will become principal of Highland Elementary on July 1, 2025. Sorensen outlined Aronson—2s background in elementary instruction and district roles including gifted and talented lead, math coach and digital resource teacher. Aronson said he looked forward to continuing relationships at Highland and supporting students, staff and families.
Both introductions were presented as informational staffing announcements; the board did not take formal action during the meeting on these personnel transitions.
