District 196 proposes increases to indoor facility rental fees, will return for approval May 12

Kaia Bruce, director of community education, presented proposed revisions to Administrative Regulation 801.5 AR (community use of district facilities) at the April 14 board meeting and said changes would affect indoor facility rental rates and field application deadlines.
Bruce said the district conducted a March market fee study comparing District 196 rental rates with neighboring districts and found that current fees were generally aligned with or lower than area averages. The proposal would increase rates for indoor spaces in Class 2, Class 3 and Class 4 effective July 1, 2025, to reflect increased costs for facility scheduling, building supervision and joint purchases of athletic equipment and to keep pace with inflation.
Bruce also proposed revising due dates for community use applications for fields and grounds so scheduling aligns with a districtwide timeline. She said this item was presented as new business and would return to the board on May 12 for formal approval.
No public comment was made on the proposal during the meeting. Board members did not take action on April 14; staff will present a formal approval item on May 12 with any final fee schedules and an updated administrative regulation.
